Southern Company Services Agrees to $350,000 Fine for Self-Reported Violations of FERC Rules Intended to Facilitate Capacity Release Program

On July 8 it was the turn of Southern Company Services, Inc. (SCS) (IN09-22) to be fined for self-reported violations of the FERC's prohibition on buy/sell transactions and the shipper-must-have-title requirement. A consent agreement with the Commission's Office of Enforcement resolves an investigation into self-reported violations by SCS of the open access transportation program. SCS agreed to pay a civil penalty of $350,000 and to submit compliance monitoring reports.
