Two Alaska North Slope Shippers Ask FERC to Hold up TAPS Carriers' Valuation Methods for Adjusting Charges or Credits for Crude Oil Cuts

One joint protest follows the January 29 filing of tariff supplements with FERC by the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) Carriers to effect changes to the processing cost adjustments used in the valuation of three of the cuts of the TAPS Quality Bank and to recalculate the regression formula used to value a fourth cut. (Unocal Pipeline Co., et a/., IS10-122, et a/.) The Carriers propose that the filed tariffs take effect on 2/1/10, and ask that waiver of the regulations requiring advance notice be granted to allow the proposed effective date.
