Texas Gas Abandons Abandonment After Failure To Realize Sufficient Support for the Bluegrass NGL Pipeline Project

Texas Gas Transmission, LLC (CP13-485) on June 3 filed with FERC a Notice of Withdrawal to withdraw its abbreviated application for authorization to abandon considerable mainline facilities filed on May 29 last year. It had requested authorization to abandon approximately 568 miles of certain looped segments of its mainline pipeline from Eunice, Louisiana to Hardinsburg, Kentucky and associated facilities. Texas Gas intended to abandon the facilities in place and ultimately transfer the facilities such that they would be repurposed for natural gas liquids (NGL) transportation and used as part of the significantly larger Bluegrass Pipeline Project that was planned to transport NGLs from the Marcellus and Utica Shale production areas to Louisiana for processing.
