FERC Approves Contested Lost and Unaccounted-For Tracker Percentages Sought by Bay Gas; More Proceedings Set to Consider Whether LAUF Applies to Florida Gas Transmission

In a 1/6/10 order, FERC addressed the outstanding petition made by Bay Gas Storage Co., Ltd. (PR08-17) in order to set its Lost and Unaccounted-For (LAUF) tracker percentages for the annual period 3/1/08 through 2/28/09. On 1/12/09, the Commission approved a settlement (PR07-9), establishing a tracking mechanism for recovery of LAUF in Bay Gas' tariff and ordered Staff to convene a Staff Panel to consider the issues raised by the parties concerning Bay Gas' first annual filing in Docket No. PR08-17 to adjust its fuel retention percentages to be used in that tracker/true-up mechanism for 2008. In the Staff Panel order, issued this week, the Commission finds that Bay Gas has demonstrated that its proposed total LAUF of 0.96%, composed of a Base Component of 0.574% and a True-up Component of 0.381 %, is fair and equitable. Accordingly, the Commission approves the petition effective 3/1/08, as requested. The Commission also requires further proceedings regarding the contract of Florida Gas Transmission Co., LLC for service with Bay Gas.
