First record of the Oman Blenny Oman ypsilon Springer, 1985 (Teleostei: Blenniidae) from Kuwait and the Persian/Arabian Gulf

During a SCUBA diving expedition on thirteen Kuwaiti coral reefs, a single adult Oman Blenny Oman ypsilon Springer, 1985 was observed at Qaru reef. Photographic documentation showing diagnostic characteristics of this distinctive fish confirms identification. The record is approximately 1500 km away from the species' type locality in Oman where it was previously thought to be endemic.
