MANN+HUMMEL (www.mann-hummel.com), develop-ment partner and series supplier to the international automotive and mechanical engineering industries, is supplying the Siemens Charger diesel-electric locomo-tive with the largest cyclone pre-separator ever built by the company. The pre-separator was developed for applications with an extremely high level of ambient dust and is therefore particularly suitable for opera-tions in very dusty environments. Customers benefit from almost maintenance free operation, high efficien-cy and low differential pressure, which serve to im-prove the availability of the locomotive and reduce running costs.
