Rittal (www.rittal.co.uk) has redeveloped the Top-Therm fan-and-filter unit to use diagonal technology, which creates an even distribution of air and avoids the formation of hot spots, thereby improving ventilation in housings. Diagonal technology means that the air outlet direction is not, as previously, in the fan's axial direction but instead diagonally to the outside. Tests have shown energy savings of 43 percent, while still having a higher and more constant air flow over a wider area than competitor models. In addition to the flat design, it possesses a steeper curve and higher pressure saddle, and hence delivers higher pressure stability. This in turn means an increased operating life for the filter mats without having to settle for any loss of power in return.
