BC farmers welcome Cohen's findings

THE findings of Justice Bruce Cohen's $26 million investigation into the decline of the sockeye salmon in the Fraser River were published on November 1, and its conclusions have been welcomed by British Columbia's salmon farmers, as it refers to a myriad of factors that are likely to be responsible for the 17-year decline of the species and does not single out the impact of fish farms. Entitled 'The Uncertain Future of Fraser River Sockeye', its 1200 pages include 75 recommendations to improve the future sustainability of the fishery.
