The quickest way to deal with overgrown woodland and the challenges of land clearance is to use a mulcher. Here we take a look at some of the machines currently on offer. Ahwi UK's flagship UZM700 now has the option of a turbo clutch drive line. This2.3 metre extra heavy-duty unit is designed for tractors with 350hp+. Double-sided drive to the rotor, gearbox synchronisation which keeps the PTO shaft at a safe working angle and self-tensioning power belt drives makes this machine ideal to use with the new range of large hp tractors from Fendt and Claas. Tractor engines and PTO drive lines are protected from high shock loadings when mulching large material, and operation is more efficient since the tractor will not stall if an unexpectedly large logor stump is encountered. This gives the combination of large tractor and UZM700 Profi performance similar to that of a purpose-built machine.
