Preying on parasites

SHARING new knowledge and scientific understanding of sea lice was at the centre of two international conferences held in Edinburgh in November. The events, which took place over three days, were attended by over 160 fish farmers, vets, fish health experts, academics, researchers, government officials and pharmaceutical, feed and public sector delegates. Given the fact that lice are problematic through the salmon farming world, it was no surprise that delegates came not just from Scotland but also from Norway, Canada, Ireland, and Chile to learn about new techniques developed by industry and researchers in the UK.
