It's now six months since the forest industry created the Safety Accord, so how is it progressing? Formed as a result of the HSE forest industry safety summits held during the early part of 2012, FISA has now started to progress with its working groups. The working groups comprise industry experts and importantly contractor members, each led by a chairman and having its own remit, generated from the steering group last September. The eight groups and their areas of focus are: Managing forest safety documents; Safety communications; Industry safety statistics; Behavioural change project; Refresher training programme; Forest haulage; Working safely with electricity; and Competency of FWM and supervisors.I've picked out a few examples of some of the exciting developments going on.
