The Woodland Carbon Code is a voluntary scheme which gives landowners an opportunity to benefit from the increasing need of consumers and businesses to reduce their carbon footprint.Why woodland carbonOrganisations wishing to reduce their carbon footprint are increasingly aware of the important role woodland creation can play. Tree-planting provides them with a low-cost option, while also benefiting the environment and society. In April 2013, it becomes mandatory for the UK's biggest businesses to report their greenhouse gas emissions and by investing in Woodland Carbon Code-certified carbon capture, the benefits can be included in their annual report.
