Seventy-four bending specimens, with and without metal connectorplates (MCPs), were tested to determine the effect of the teeth of MCPs on the bending strength of solid sawn lumber (SSL) and laminated veneer lumber (LVL). The teeth of the MCPs were 3/8 inch long. Based on the results of this pilot study, statistical analysis showed that there was no effect on the bending strength of SSL and LVL.
