The PVC market showed little sign of improvement in Q3, with the US construction industry, both residential, non-residential and repair and remodel segments all still in the doldrums. Some 23% of residential mortgages were recently reported to be below the value of the houses. Fortunately, the industry was still in a cost advantaged position vis-à-vis Asia and strong exports to some extent counterbalanced weak domestic sales.
