SPOT THE DIFFERENCE

The folding carton and packaging sector is currently undergoing a radical sea change. There is a constant and ever-increasing demand for production efficiencies, shorter runs, on-demand solutions and environmental considerations and a relentless requirement for more creative and yet more cost-effective products. To meet these often contradictory demands, today's packaging and folding carton presses have to be so much more than 'just' precision printing machinery. The challenge now is not in how to improve the broad mechanics of the press and print production process — there has been well over 100 years of outstanding continuous development in this area — but how small changes in prepress, colour management and quality control on- press can over time make a huge difference to productivity and efficiency.
