Chinese government okays BASF-YPC expansion at Nanjing

The Chinese government has approved the proposed expansion at BASF-YPC's petrochemical complex in Nanjing, China [Focus on Surfactants, May 2008]. JV partners BASF and Sinopec will equally shoulder the roughly $1.4 bn investment (up from the c $900 M originally planned) to ramp up capacities at the complex and install new units that will make downstream speciality chemicals for the Chinese market.
