The effects of thermoplastic composition(different levels of glass fibre reinforcements,fillers,additives,and pigments)on the mechanical performance(tensile strength)of nylon-6 welded joints produced using laser transmission welding under a range of conditions,was investigated using tensile testing.The results are discussed in comparison with alternative welding techniques such as hot plate or ultrasonic methods.24 refs.
