Implementation of any ERP packag is fraught with perils, some times even leading to the total collapse of the internal systems of an organization. A systematic approach with a clear focus on the desired deliverables is a necessary pre-requisite for ERP implementation. With patience and perseverance and a proactive approach to the users requirement. NFCL has successfully demonstrated that this monster called SAP can be successfully tamed to deliver the needs for organizational betterment. This article traces some of the highlighting parameters of implementation, status of SAP when NFCL went live, its current status in the organisation and future plant of action.
