Indecopi investigating Doe Run Peru

PERU’S GOVERNMENT bankruptcy agency Indecopi has opened an official investigation into Doe Run Peru's financial situation. Creditors have been given 30 days to file credit recovery paperwork for analysis by Indecopi. Creditors will then form a group to decide whether to liquidate the company and sell its assets or draw up a restructuring plan. Doe Run has countered that it is still in the process of finalising agreements with creditors and has made progress towards restarting the smelter.
