Brazilian 2009 deliveries fall 11.3% for first nine months

OFFICIAL STATISTICS for August and September 2009 have been released by the Brazilian Fertilizer Industry Association. Fertilizer deliveries in the first nine months of the year totalled 16.2 million mt, 11.3% lower than in the same period of 2008, when they amounted to 18.2 million mt. Imports in the same period fell 43% to 7.9 million mt, due to lower demand and producers' need to reduce inventories.
