Cautious reaction as BPC raises SE Asia spot price

BPC's announcement of higher spot prices in SE Asia for shipments in the fourth quarter has been greeted with caution by other suppliers. Due to financial and economic uncertainty the price increase was delayed by several weeks and is lower than originally planned by BPC. On top of this, conditions in some spot market in SE Asia do not favour an increase. There are substantial inventories in Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan bought at $460/mt CFR in the second quarter and at $510/mt CFR in the third.
