South Africa imports almost 40% more potash in 2014

South Africa imported 381,515 mt of potash in 2014, a 39% increase on 2013 and its highest level on record by a significant margin, according to GTIS data. SQM provided 35% of the imports or 134,410 mt making it the top potash supplier to South Africa. K+S also shipped 83,960 mt to the country or 22% of its imports. APC and ICL both increased their South African shipments by 30-35,000 mt, bringing their imports to 73,942 mt and 51,374 mt respectively.
