Noracid shutdown a concern in balanced market

Whilst Europe remains quiet with the holiday season, of most concern to the market is the latest shutdown at Chile's Noracid sulphur burning sulphuric acid plant. A reported gas leak has prompted its closure and details are sketchy as to when the plant is set to start-up once again. At present, there are no concerns of a dip in supply as the local market can oversee any shortfall, however, should it remain down for an extended period, there may be some enquiries for spot.
