Uralkali's 2010 net rises 83%, Silvinit up 10%

RUSSIAN POTASH producer Uralkali on April 1 reported it achieved an 83% rise in net profit for the 12 months ended December 31, 2010, basis IFRS results. Net profit for the year came in at RUB 16.65 billion ($585 million), up from RUB 9.09 billion in 2009. Net revenue increased 39% to RUB 40.60 billion from RUB 29.23 billion. The company's sales of potassium chloride more than doubled last year to 5.1 million mt against 2.5 million mt in 2009, amid a recovery in global demand for the fertilizer nutrient.
