US NOLA: UAN barge trade thin, bids below fill level

UAN-32 barge bids are down to $210/st FOB New Orleans, but very little trade is claimed and some sellers report they are comfortable waiting for prices to climb again in coming months. A stalemate is likely to persist in coming weeks, as endusers in the US interior do not see see margins based on current inland resale values versus replacement costs out of the barge market. Carryover in the interior is sufficient to meet seasonal needs at this point. They also are betting on fill pricing from North American producers or import offers in coming weeks at the delivered equivalent of $215/st FOB New Orleans.
