Tampa contract for second half February up by $40/t

Yara completed second-half February price negotiations for contract deliveries with CF Industries on 14 February at $580/t cfr Tampa. This is up $40/t on the price agreed for first-half February, fixed at $540/t cfr. The strength in the ammonia market has prompted yet another producer to decide to restart idled capacity in North America. Agrium said on 13 February that it plans to restart the number one ammonia train at its Redwater, Alberta nitrogen complex in Canada. The long-idled unit has a 280,000tpa capacity, according to the International Fertilizer Development Centre. Agrium is already running the 680,000tpa ammonia unit at the site.
