Argentina innovates with Internet course on quality in the food sector

The Argentinian National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) and the Argentinian Institute for Standardization (IRAM) have jointly organized an online training course over Internet to disseminate and promote ISO 15161, Guidelines on the application of ISO 9001:2000 for the food and drink industry. The course aims to enable participants to: (1) identify the principles of quality management systems; (2) identify the principles of good practice with regard to industrial production and to applying the "Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points" (HACCP) system; (3) assess the importance and possibilities of harmonizing food safety principles with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 in line with the ISO 15161 guidelines, and (4) become familiar with the requirements for the implementation of a quality approach and for certification.
