The thinking behind the new standards, published on 15 December 2000, is quite different from that behind the previous versions. The ISO 9000:2000 vision is of the company as a system - a system with a corporate strategy expressing its aims. The system is also seen as comprising business processes, which is to say organizational tools contributing to the implementation of the corporate strategy. The company's quality policy is thus an integral part of its general policy with a view to achieving long-term customer satisfaction.
