Correct twin management could be financially viable

Most beef producers would rather steer clear of twin births to avoid problems such as increased calf mortality. But there is a possibility the pros could outweigh the cons when managed correcdy. In 1981, the US Department of Agriculture started a beef twinning project at the US Meat Animal Research Centre (USMARC) in Nebraska. More than 30 years of research has proved selecting for twins has the potential to increase total beef production.
