Discovering the true protein content of grass silage

摘要

New research looking in detail at the protein content of grass silage is helping to explain why inocnlant treatment can promote significant animal performance benefits over ahove that possible from untreated silage. This work, which is on-going at IGE R with the support of companies Alltech and Frank Wright, is underpinning a collaborative initiative to develop a cost effective system of silage analysis that would give farmers more accurate indications of forage value.
