Kosmos Farms Out Suriname Stake

US-based Kosmos Energy has farmed-out a stake in Block 42, located offshore Suriname, to New York-based Hess Corp. Under the agreement, Hess will "disproportionately fund a portion" of the first exploration well in the block and conduct a 6,500 sq km 3-D seismic survey of the area. Hess already has offshore operations in neighboring Guyana, whose marine border is at the western edge of Block 42 (OD Jan.28’16).
