UP to 40 pet cent more grass per load and halved emptying times are advantages of using a trailer which relies on a hydraulic plunger instead of tipping. The Fliegl trailer range uses a moving front that can compress low density crops against the backdoor and increase the amount of material carried in a compact package. C&A Contractors based at Marston Farm, Staffordshire, has been using two 14-tonne Fliegl trailers for two years and prefer them over conventional tippers for keeping their self-propelled chopper working. "We saw the trailers in Germany and could see several benefits of using a non-tipping system," says Colin Stubbs. "We also have a number of customers with indoor clamps and this is one area that these trailers have proved ideal."
