Qualitative and quantitative tests for additives

In this section, qualitative and quantitative tests for approved feed additives are provided. The qualitative assay information is presented in either complete detail or by source (supplier or published reference). The quantitative assay method is given by source or reference and includes the basic analytical principle. A quick reference guide to drug analysis can be found at the end of this section. Despite a wealth of new digital instrumentation, easy enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay tests and other modern laboratory equipment, nothing has replaced the need for simple, rapid analyses at the micro level. Most common production errors can be intercepted and corrected using tests forthepresenceorabsence of feed additives. Daily usage also can be monitored with similar tests. Some rapid tests are sufficiently accurate for quantitative answers.
