A novel flameless combustion technology is to be introduced at a short course on energy saving technologies being held in Portugal in March. The event will be held at the Hotel Estoril Eden near Lisbon, on March 19 and 20, and is being organised by the Cenertec organisation. The short course is based around the challenges of the need to develop new solutions for sustainable energy supplies and of rising energy prices. An expected 50 percent increase in energy consumption over the coming 25 years will tend to cause energy prices to continue rising. In this context, the importance of rational use of energy is increasing from day to day. Allowing for actual energy prices, the payback time for the implementation of the latest energy-saving technologies has been cut by 50 percent over the past three years in many applications.
