Algeria/Italy: The Algerian and Italian governments have recently signed a new partnership agreement, granting the Italian cement company Buzzi Unicem a 35 percent stake holding in four Algerian cement companies. Buzzi Unicem, the second largest Italian cement company, will have the right to supervise the management of the four companies. Egypt: On 20 August 2007, the Egyptian ASEC Company for Geology and Mining (ASCOM) signed a three year contract with Egypt's Suez Cement Co, to supply it with limestone and manage its quarries. No further details on the deal were available.
