Holcim Ste. Genevieve plant-Site visit

Global Cement Magazine was recently granted the opportunity to visit Holcim (US) Inc. (Holcim) Ste. Genevieve plant in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri, USA. The plant, which began operation in July 2009 after more than a decade of planning and four years of construction was officially inaugurated in the summer of 2010. It boasts one of the largest single cement production lines in the world with a capacity of 12,000t/day. Built on the site of an old aggregates quarry, the 3900-acre site features 100-year reserves of excellent-quality limestone and is directly on the Mississippi River, which provides low-cost transportation across a large area of the eastern United States.
