A Fresh Cement look at fly ash handing

At Fresh Cement's terminal, fly ash is supplied in small barges (800-1700 dwt) such as that shown above. It is unloaded using a Van Aalst pneumatic ship unloader, which sucks the fly ash out of the barge and blows the unloaded material to a storage silo on the shore. This new system has replaced an older, less-efficient ship unloading system, which is now defunct. The new system consumes significantly less energy.
