Bigger, more productive equipment and cutting-edge technology were the feature attractions of the 2008 Farm Progress Show as manufacturers introduced machinery designed to help farmers control input costs. Farm equipment makers say they're focusing onways to help growers improve the productivity and precision of their operations by helping them get in and out of the field faster while improving crop yields and reducing costs. Some of the innovations that Farm Equipment editors saw rolled out at thisyear's Farm Progress Show involved some of biggest, most powerful, yet fuel-efficient combines and tractors ever built. Other developments involved electronic and digital controls aimed at improving the precision of planting, spraying and fertilizing operations.
