Before swivelling into the editor's chair at Greenhouse Canada, I was employed in the pressroom of an Ontario daily newspaper, preparing page negatives for the pressmen to 'burn' into plates. This was a job I undertook while I looked to return to thefield of editing and lavish expense accounts. Just before the last provincial election, the newspaper was given the contract by the Ontario Progressive Conservative party to print the much vaunted Common Sense Revolution publication. This document of about 20 pages or so outlined the party's platform. It was given to us in negative form. (Think of the film negatives you get with your photo prints, and imagine them the size of a newspaper page....) The originals were kept by the party.
