Deep Canadian roots for leading U.S. 'mum' grower

A leading potted chrysanthemum grower in the U.S. has deep Canadian roots. Pete VanderLugt, president of Aldershot of New Mexico Inc , was raised in the greenhouse industry of southern Ontario. After graduating from Ohio State University in 1980, he worked for his father, Arie, for four years before moving to New Mexico with the acquisition of a greenhouse operation in Las Cruces. A second nearby facility was purchased in 1990.
