US USG Corp.(USG)won bankruptcy court approval of a US21m management incentive programme that covers about 250 of its top workers.The asbestos personal injury claimants committee tried to halt the plan,saying that Congress would find it objectionable.The plan,similar to a retention plan the company had in effect during 2005,is designed to 'help ensure the continuation of the debtors' excellent financial performance and low employee turnover,' USG said in a court filing.USG said the cost of the plan,is Very modest' considering its status as an industry leader,its strong operational performance and the competitive nature of its industry.The plan bases half of each participant's target award on strategic focus targets and the remaining half on company earnings.
