Curtin University metallurgy students have gained a valuable insight into uranium and gold mining operations following a recent field trip to Canada as part of their studies. Led by Professor Eric Grimsey and comprising three PhD and seven final-year metallurgical engineering students from the Western Australian School of Mines (WASM), the group spent from June 25 to July 13 in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Ontario visiting metallurgical plants, refineries and research institutions.
