Avoca: Local gold story of the year

Avoca Minerals Ltd made the transition to producer this month, bringing to fruition its exploration activities in the Eastern Goldfields which have won it plaudits as one of Australia's best explorers. Initial indications are it will generate just as much respect as a producer. The first ore feed from Avo-ca's Trident deposit - 180km south of Kalgoorlie, between Kambalda and Norseman - was processed through the company's just-commissioned Higgin-sville treatment plant.
