Huaneng Power 2011 Profits Plunge 50%

Huaneng Power International – 51% owned by gasificationbased power and fuels technology developer China Huaneng – announced January 30 that it foresees 2011 net profit as measured by Chinese national accounting standards to drop by more than 50% compared with 2012. “The decrease was mainly due to the rise of fuel cost and increase of the interest rate of RMB [China currency] loans,” according to Huaneng.
