China to Produce 50 Billion Cubic Meters per Year of SNG by 2020

China’s National Energy Administration announced February 6 that the country aims to produce 50 billion cubic meters per year (Bcm/y) of synthetic natural gas (SNG) by 2020. According to a report from RIA Oreanda News, producing that much coal-gasification-based SNG would account for more than 12% of domestic gas supply.
