Josef Ammann, Switzerland

Josef Ammann was born 1934 in Gahwil, Switzerland. After graduation from the gymnasium (matura) he entered the "School of Art and Craft" in Lucerne. From 1958 to 1964 he studied theology, philosophy and pedagogics at the Universities of Fribourg, Switzerland and Freiburg and Munich, Germany. Josef got interested in Arts and Craft when he was asked in 1960 to design the chapel of the Mariannehiller-mission in Fribourg. He created the stained glass windows, a ceramic wall and a Madonna.
