The Real Thing

My piece, titled " The Real Thing" was made using Art Clay Silver metal clay and enamel (see fig. 1). It was created in response to a call I got from Reed Caldwell of the John C. Campbell Folk School. He asked if I would submit a piece for a fund raising auction being sponsored by Coca-Cola. Almost immediately I had an image in my mind of what I wanted to do. I was inspired by the fluid, elegant lines of the coke logo and wanted to abstract them to create ribbon like effects in a champleve piece.
