Little Known but Powerful Approach to Applied Research: Community-Based Participatory Research

The Center for Excellence in Assisted Living (CEAL) is pleased to be contributing to this issue of Geriatric Nursing. CEAL is a nonprofit of 11 national organizations that represent a diverse and unique collaboration of key assisted living stakeholders, including the Alzheimer's Association, Pioneer Network, American Assisted Living Nurses Association, and National Center for Assisted Living, among 7 other organizations. CEAL was created in 2004 to advance practices of excellence and bridge research, policy, and practice to better inform each sector. CEAL focuses this column on community-based participatory research (CBPR), an innovative method to advance excellence and bridge sectors.
