In The Rime of the Ancient Mariner(1798), after a particularly long seavoyage, the mariner recited a poem. Thesecond stanza being: Water, water, everywhere,And all the boards did shrink;Water, water, everywhere,Nor any drop to drink. In our present day acidic world, perhapsthis verse holds more wisdom than in the daysof this mariner.
