Cedigaz sees ‘tremendous LNG growth in 2011’ after record-breaking 2010

The global LNG industry is on track for “tremendous growth” in 2011 as demand soars in emerging markets and Japan imports additional LNG to cope with its nuclear crisis. So says Cedigaz, the international gas trade association, in its first estimates of 2010 gas consumption and trade statistics. The growth will come on top of a record-breaking year in 2010, when LNG trade soared by 21% to around 294 Bcm – the fastest annual growth since the birth of the industry almost half a century ago.
